Molesey Churches Night Shelter

What is MCNS?

The churches in Molesey, alongside other local organisations, are supporting Transform Housing and Support and the Local and Borough Councils to provide the homeless people of Elmbridge a place for the evenings and nights of the coldest months.

Latest news

Temporary accommodation in the form of bunkabins were installed in the unused space at the rear of the Molesey (Henrietta Parker) Adult Centre in December 2020 and the first guests were welcomed before Christmas.

Transform Housing and Support are responsible for managing the cabins on a day-to-day basis, working alongside the Molesey Churches Night Shelter, Rentstart and volunteers. The site is supervised 24/7.

How can I help?

The team are providing the guests with breakfast, a hearty packed lunch, snacks and a hot evening meal each day and looking for volunteers to prepare and cook food and deliver it to the site to be handed over to a staff member.

There are TWO Meal Trains – one is for packed lunches and one is for evening meals. Please follow the links below to sign up to prepare food for 8 people. There will be some guidelines around preparing food and bringing it on site and food will need to be pre-portioned as there are no facilities on site to heat or dish up food. The team will contact you once you have signed up so you are aware of the guidelines. The Bunkabins will have microwaves in them.

The team would love to find creative (and Covid safe!) ways to raise funds for the Night Shelter. Please do get in touch with Julie (details below) if you are planning any fundraising activities that she can help publicise or if you have any great fundraising ideas.
