Sunday Teams

We have one of the highest proportions of under 18’s to adults in the diocese. We need to be proud of this as a church but it is also a great responsibility for us as we disciple the next generation. There are a variety of different roles that make ministry to under 18’s a success. It might be that you love working with a certain age group, or that you would love to serve behind the scenes. There are a variety of different opportunities to serve across the whole age range at St Mary’s. This is a vital part of our ministry so if you would like to speak more about how you might be able to serve or what you feel you could offer we would love to hear from you.

Everyone is Welcome at St Marys and this makes sure that the first interactions people have as they come through the door reflects that. St Mary’s is more than a building, it is our church home and we want people to be made to feel comfortable when they come in.
Other elements of this team include preparing and serving the refreshments. If you feel passionate about making people feel at home at St Marys we would love to hear from you. Training will be given.

Our Production Team provide technical support for sound and visuals at our sunday services and other events. No specific experience to join the team is necessary, all training will be required. If you have an interest in technology it’s a great way to be involved and play an important role in enabling our events to run smoothly.

Worship is at the heart of why we all come together as a Church on a Sunday morning. So that we can honour God to the best of our ability and that our hearts are drawn in to worship we want to strive to be the best we can. If you have musical gifts and a passion for worship, we would love to speak to you about how you might able to serve on this team.

Prayer is vital to the Church. We love praying before we meet on a Sunday and have prayer available during the service. If you feel like this is the team, we would love to have you. Training will be provided.

If you love feeling like you are young again, playing games and having fun, then this is the team for you! We meet every Sunday night and have a blast. This group is known in the community as being welcoming and safe. Please be in touch if you think you would like to give it a go!
Midweek Teams

Description text Alpha sits at the heart of why we exist as a church. To offer the guests the best possible experience of christian community requires a committed team of people with different gifts. So whether you are passionate about prayer, hospitality and welcome, or just love chatting with people the Alpha team would love to hear from you.

In many ways our Café operates as not only a safe and welcoming meeting place for the local community but it is also like a reception area pointing towards other ministries and activities we offer here at St Marys. There are a wide range of opportunities to serve in the cafe team including serving tables and connecting people in with other church ministries. We are not just a café in a church but we want people to get to know something of what Church is when they come to the café and this requires some of the Church community to be present and available to speak to guests and make them feel welcome. If any of the above feel like areas you have a gifting in, the Cafe Team would love to hear from you.

Little Moles has become a local institution and has been a place where parents and carers of pre-school children can come and receive a warm welcome from St Marys, connect with other local parents and hear christian songs and Bible Stories. There is a variety of roles in this team, whether you love baking or welcoming or chatting one to one with parents we would love to hear from you.

We live in a beautiful and broken world but we believe God wants us to be part of renewing it and restoring it back. If you love being outdoors and getting your hands dirty then this is the Team for you!

Every other Tuesday afternoon a team of volunteers welcome the elderly into our church for craft, hymns and food. It’s a beautiful time of friendship and worship, be in touch if this sounds like something you could be a part of.
